By using the Liveport network, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy. These guidelines are designed to ensure the network remains safe, reliable, and lawful for all residents and guests.

You may use the Liveport network for everyday personal and educational activities, including:

Email and messaging services

Smart home and personal IoT devices

Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited.
1. Illegal Activities
You must not use the Liveport network for any activity that is unlawful under Australian law, including but not limited to:
Downloading, uploading, or sharing copyrighted material without permission (copyright infringement or piracy)
Hacking, network scanning, or unauthorised access to systems or data
Distributing malware, viruses, spyware, or ransomware
Accessing, storing, or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
Fraud, identity theft, scams, or other financial crimes
Harassment, stalking, intimidation, or threats
Any activity that breaches Commonwealth, state, or territory laws
2. Network Abuse
To protect service quality for all users, the following are not permitted:
Running servers or services accessible from the public internet without Liveport approval
Cryptocurrency mining or blockchain validation activities
Excessive or sustained bandwidth use that negatively impacts other residents
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
Network scanning, penetration testing, or vulnerability probing
Packet sniffing, traffic interception, or man-in-the-middle activity
MAC address spoofing or identity evasion
3. Prohibited Equipment
The following equipment must not be connected to the Liveport network:
Personal wireless routers or access points
Wireless repeaters, extenders, or mesh systems
Equipment that interferes with network security or management
Devices that create unauthorised or hidden networks
4. Account and Access Violations
You must not:
Share your network credentials with others
Use another resident’s account or credentials
Circumvent device limits or access controls
Attempt to bypass captive portal authentication
Create fake, duplicate, or unauthorised accounts
Fair Use and Bandwidth Management
Liveport does not typically enforce strict data caps. However:
Usage that degrades the experience for others may be addressed
Users with unusually high or persistent consumption may be contacted
Continued abuse may result in bandwidth throttling
Extremely high usage may require a plan change or additional charges
Examples of Excessive Use
24/7 BitTorrent seeding or peer-to-peer hosting
Operating public file or media servers
Cryptocurrency mining operations
Running commercial or revenue-generating services from a residential connection
Privacy and Network Monitoring
To maintain service quality and security:
Liveport monitors traffic volumes and patterns (not the content of communications)
Malicious or abusive activity may be detected and blocked automatically
Reports of abuse are investigated
Liveport cooperates with law enforcement when legally required
Your privacy is respected within these operational and legal limits.
Consequences of Policy Violations
Violations of this policy may result in one or more of the following actions:
Warning: For first-time or minor breaches
Temporary Suspension: For repeated or unresolved violations
Permanent Disconnection: For serious or ongoing misuse
Legal Referral: Criminal activity may be reported to authorities
Financial Liability: Recovery of costs incurred due to misuse or damage
Property Management Notification
Where applicable:
Policy breaches may be reported to building or property management
Violations may constitute a breach of your lease or occupancy agreement
Serious or repeated breaches could affect your residency
Reporting Suspected Violations
If you believe this policy is being breached:

Provide any relevant details (date, time, type of issue, if known)
Do not attempt to investigate or confront other residents yourself
